What you will experience on the 2 Nation Tour:
The 2 Nation takes passengers on a a 22-mile journey through the international waters of America and Canada. Giving you the best view of this truly unique geographical area shared by two nations and you don’t even need a passport! This international tour offers close-up enjoyment of historic and scenic wonders in both the American and Canadian sections of the 1000 Islands.
The Singer Castle takes its passengers downriver in much different route than the 2 nation tour. here you will see a more natural view of the St Lawrence River before reaching Dark Island. Once there you will disembark to visit Singer Castle during a fully guided tour which will explore this mysterious destination. Built in 1904 by millionaire Frederick Bourne complete with secret passageways and its original adornments including Suits of Armour, mid-evil weaponry and antique furniture!
On both tours our professional guides will share the colorful history of the magnificent homes built during the gilded age as well as biographical information about their owners, point out landmarks such as Devils Oven, Sunken Rock Lighthouse, the Canadian Span of the 1000 Islands Bridge System, and Tom Thumb Island, detail historic events that took place during the War of 1812 and much, much more.
Your cruise will take you through narrow passages where it seems you can almost reach out and touch the islands and will expose you to some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country.
Of course, as long as Boldt Castle is open, ALL Uncle Sam Tours allow guests to disembark and tour Heart Island at the end of the trip! Boldt Castle admission is extra but you may tour as long as you wish before boarding our shuttle when you are ready to return (free of charge) to the mainland.

Learn about the mysterious history and possible haunting of Singer Castle on this unique cruise to Dark Island.
Singer Castle was built at the turn of the century by Commodore Bourne, president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, as a hunting lodge. It remained in his family for half a century until it was bought by Reverend Martin in the 60s and established as a religious retreat.
In 2005, the castle was purchased by a group of German investors and was opened to the public, allowing visitors from all over the world to view a castle that had always been shrouded in mystery and, as rumor would have it, haunted.
This trip covers an 11-mile section of the St. Lawrence River not offered in any of our other tours. Our experienced tour guides provide a lively narrative during the downriver trip to the castle and the return trip back to Alexandria Bay, directing your attention to points of interest and sharing historic, environmental, and seaway facts. At the castle, trained guides greet you and provide a one-hour walking tour.
Upon returning upriver to the Alexandria Bay area, your vessel stops at Heart Island, where you have the option to either disembark at Boldt Castle and enjoy a self-guided tour of the castle and its grounds or remain on board and return to Alexandria Bay. Boldt Castle admission is additional.
